The Visible Unseen Unfolded
Artist statement
New series of paintings
Erika Kangas presents her solo exhibition in Stockholm, "The Invisible Unseen Unfolded," exploring human experience and the feeling of being lost.
Using watercolor, ink, and natural salts, she creates unexpected shapes through a unique drying process. By incorporating sound frequencies, she examines the link between sound and movement, allowing her inner motifs to emerge.
Kangas blurs the lines between conscious and subconscious, aiming to make the unseen visible and foster hope for our collective subconscious.
Her work invites reflection on shared emotions, offering a chance to embrace the unknown and find solace in our human journey.
Mixed media, aquarelle, ink, oil pastel, salt on 300 g acid-free 300 g paper, Size: 120 x 90 cm, Walnut frame with glass.
